Impressive award for Lyn Ford

star award

Congratulations go to Chartered Financial Planner Lyn Ford on becoming a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

This achievement has taken many years of study and resolve. In honour of her hard work and commitment, Lyn was invited to the annual Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) award evening.

The event took place on 18 October at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bristol. The evening began with a drinks reception, followed by the presentation of certificates and prizes. The event ended with an informal buffet when everyone a chance to chat and congratulate each other. References to 'hard work' and 'midnight oil' could sometimes be heard amid the chatter.

The event was also attended by Institute officers and members, plus representatives from the local financial industry.

Special award recognises achievement

Lyn received her qualification and was also awarded with the CII Best Completion in FPFS Award. She was given her certificate and was also handed an impressive glass trophy for her award.

Reflecting on her evening of glory, Lyn said “I’m so very pleased to have been recognised in this way. Being a Fellow of the PFS is already a prestigious group to belong to, so to have the additional distinction of the  ‘best completion award’ is just overwhelming. I feel very proud.”

Taking a break from studies ... but not quite

We asked Lyn what she plans to do next and she replied “I really enjoy studying but I’ve been taking exams consistently since the early nineties. I feel it’s time to take a break! However, I can’t quite bear to stop studies completely, so in the interim I will continue to help my colleagues to train for their qualifications and satisfy my craving in that way.”
