Christmas cake raffle raises cash for the Alzheimer’s Society

raffle-tickets

A big thank you to advisers Phil and Barry for giving up their rather special Christmas cake for our festive charity collection. They received the cake as a gift and quickly offered it up for raffle with no persuasion needed at all!

Raffle for Christmas cake is very popular with staff

The magnificent-looking cake is made by the famous Edmiston Sisters and looks like a work of art. ‘The Christmas Cake’ is beautifully presented in a box with ribbons and bows. In addition, the cake itself is decorated with subtly marinated citrus fruits, nuts, dried fruits and is absolutely huge!

We raffled the cake off amongst the staff and unsurprisingly competition to win was fierce. Lyn Ford was the lucky winner and she was utterly delighted to take the very special cake home. Fortunately, no security guards were required!

Continued support for dementia charity

On a serious note, the raffle gave us the opportunity to raise a few more pounds for the Alzheimer’s Society. In total we collected £58 from raffle ticket sales. Office Manager Tracy Bell said, We try to have at least one event a year to raise money for the Alzheimer’s charity. The condition touches so many families, including people we know. In view of this we look forward each year to continuing to support the charity in the valuable work they do”.

Our company and many of our team members participate in the Dementia Friends scheme run by the Alzheimer’s Society. This scheme helps raise awareness of the needs of vulnerable clients affected by the condition.
