This year, the team at Brighton Williams joined forces with Red Recruitment for our festive charity event.
Red Recruitment teamed up with Bristol Children’s Charity to launch a ‘Christmas Toy Appeal’. Red asked for other companies to participate in collecting new toys for children aged 0-16 years. They promised to match each donated article with another of similar value or a monetary donation towards a larger gift. That was an offer we couldn’t refuse!
The Brighton Williams team responded to the task brilliantly. Office Manager Tracy Bell said, “I couldn’t believe the amount of toys that came flooding in from our staff. It got to the point where we were struggling to store them”.
We love a festive challenge
Tracy continued, “The team here have strong links with many local charities and we all look forward to the Christmas charity event. This year, shopping for toys seems to have been extremely popular - I guess we're all big kids at heart! The company is very proud of the generosity shown by everyone time after time”.
Santa drives a mini!
On 14 December, Ross from Red arrived in a red mini to collect the toys, complete with Santa hat and sack. We had so many toys that we had to put the back seat down – and the car was still stacked to the roof. Red recruitment contacted us to say they were “overwhelmed” by our response to the appeal.
Three charities to benefit
Along with Bristol Children’s Charity, the toys were to be distributed to Ty Hafan in Cardiff and Jessie May in Swindon. We hope that the efforts of Red and all the participants have helped to make a real difference to Christmas for lots of children.
A big thank you to Red Recruitment for organising the event and inviting us to participate.
